"Porrón de Cristal" Traditional Glass Wine Pitcher (various sizes)
A "Porrón" is a traditional glass wine pitcher, typical of Spain. This invention allows everyone to drink from the same utensil without touching it with their lips.
The most representative detail is its shape: a bottle bulging at the base or with a bulging belly, with a long, pointed spout, perforated to facilitate the pouring of the liquid, and a long arm on the opposite side to hold it while in use.
It fosters communal drinking accompanying food, though it does require some skill to ensure the wine enters one's mouth and to keep it from spilling onto clothing.
If you want to enjoy the real experience of drinking with the Porrón, just come and visit us in our Jamoneria Bar and Tasting Room and you will be able to experience one of the Spanish traditions.
*It is a very fragile item that we pack very carefully and protect well to try to prevent it from breaking in transit*.
