Squid are small squids (Loligo spp.) in the invertebrate cephalopod family. They consume plankton and raise small fish and crustaceans. The squid usually lives in banks about 100 metres deep and migrates along the ocean currents to avoid the tuna, its main natural predator.

Frozen on board, IQF, IWP, from the southern fishing grounds of FAO 34, quality 1st japonica, being this the highest quality standard existing in the market (established by the Japanese market).

Large sizes are highly appreciated for sashimi in East Asian countries, while medium and small sizes are in great demand for frying. There are different qualities of squid, Morocco, India, and China are the three main standards, the Moroccan being the most appreciated commercially for the quality of its meat and the low water content (which comes from the artificial glazing used in the Indian and Chinese).

 STORAGE & CARE

Keep frozen.

Defrost in the refrigerator. Wash the product well and cook thoroughly before consumption. 
Do not refreeze once defrosted.

SERVING RECOMMENDATION

Squids are a delicious and versatile ingredient that can be used in a variety of dishes.

For example, grilled squid is delicious served with lemon wedges on the side for squeezing over the top. You can also serve it with a side salad of mixed greens dressed with a simple vinaigrette.
