Marcona almonds are a type of sweet, gourmet almond from Spain that is very popular in Mediterranean countries. A Marcona almond is far sweeter, moister, and softer than the classic almond variety with a buttery flavor and texture and it has a delicate aroma.
Marcona is the best known variety of almonds. It is a round and fat almond and with a low percentage of bitterness, which is excellent for frying as it has less oil in its composition.
